The symposium “Of mummies and more ...” is above all the opportunity to meet experts in the field of Physical Anthropology of the Department of Cultural Heritage (DBC) and the Institute of Evolutionary Medicine (IEM) of the University of Zurich. It arises from the will to consolidate and implement the ongoing scientific collaboration between the two research institutions.
However, the symposium will not be limited to mummies, but it will provide the occasion to discuss about research topics carried out by the two groups: from archaeoanthropology to paleopathology, from virtual anthropology to archaeogenetics. Ultimately, the two groups will discuss about the development of shared research projects and the establishment of fruitful scientific synergies.
